A 48-year-old resident of the 100 block of Deer Lane told police Sunday night that someone removed $12,000 cash and numerous items from the home and caused more than $16,000 in damage to the residence, police said. The man returned home Sunday night after a three-day absence and discovered an intruder apparently had entered the building after throwing a rock through a glass panel on a door, police said. In addition to the theft of the cash, the intruder allegedly removed clothing and appliances, police said. Exterior lights, a hot tub, floor tiles, plants and latticework were also vandalized, police said.
