Two people were taken to DuPage County Jail Monday after allegedly trying to obtain $5,368 with a worthless check at Glendale Currency Exchange, 1225 Glen Ellyn Rd., police said. Charged with forgery were Nicholas P. Gruber, 19, of the 1800 block of Tall Oaks Street, Aurora, and Dixie Brossart, 20, of the 21 W 500 block of North Avenue, near Lombard, police said.
