Home Assistance Volunteer Effort Inc. is seeking low-income residents of Batavia, Geneva and St. Charles Townships who need minor repairs made to their homes.
While the organization will not rehab an entire home, volunteers can make repairs such as adding grab bars in a bath, adding wheelchair ramps or replacing a door or window.
To receive assistance, residents should call the organization hot line, 630-375-7227.
“Experience says that these calls often come from someplace else–a neighbor, a friend or another family member,” said spokesman Charles Webb.
