Aldermen in Batavia have decided the city should write a letter to the Northeastern Illinois Planning Commission, stressing the city’s plan to keep the vicinity west of Deerpath Road near the Batavia/North Aurora boundary a low-density area.

Mayor Jeffrey Schielke suggested taking this step after learning the Fox Valley Metro Water Reclamation District is seeking NIPC’s approval to install a sewer main that would extend to the Batavia/North Aurora border. It would service a proposed 348-acre residential development in North Aurora and future expansion.

Schielke wants to make sure everyone involved knows Batavia will stand by its current land-use plans.
