A new permit-parking program for Glenbard West students has been expanded and enacted by the Glen Ellyn Village Board. The program is aimed at alleviating parking problems on several residential streets surrounding Glenbard West High School.
Residents and school officials have long voiced complaints and concerns about students parking on portions of Lee and Willis Streets. According to residents the problems generated by student parking in the area have included large amounts of litter, noise, unsafe driving habits and little room to maneuver because of solidparking along those streets.
Glen Ellyn Police Chief Carlo Cudio said that an experimental student parking program has been highly successfulThe new restrictions include: a one-hour parking limit on the east side of Lee between Crescent Boulevard and Willis on school days between 7 a.m. and 3 p.m.; no parking on the north side of Willis from Lee Street to Riford and the establishment of permit parking during school hours on Crescent Boulevard, the west side of Park Row and the south side of Willis Street from Park Row to Riford.
