Frederick W. Sievers, 80, of Des Plaines, died Sunday, April 8, in Manor Care Nursing Home in Northbrook. Mr. Sievers was raised in Hillside and served in the Army from 1945 to 1948. He was based in South Korea, where he helped build roads. He worked for 45 years at Victor Comptometer Corp., a manufacturer of adding machines in Chicago. Mr. Sievers was a modelmaker who helped design machine parts. He retired in the 1980s. “He was very easy to get along with,” said his wife of 50 years, June. Other survivors include three daughters, Laura Miller, Marie Drozdz and Donna; two brothers, William and Charles; and seven grandchildren. A service will begin at 11 a.m. Wednesday in Oehler Funeral Home, 555 E. Lee St., Des Plaines.
