The village probably will dip into reserves this year to cover decreasing revenue, officials said.

On Monday trustees were told that revenue is expected to decline in the fiscal year that begins May 1 but the village can cover the shortfall without cutting services.

Officials plan to use about $5.5 million in reserves to offset the drop in revenue.

The village also plans to spend less. The proposed 2002-03 budget is $115.8 million, down about $580,000.

Budget hearings will continue at 7:30 p.m. Thursday and March 21 in Village Hall. The board is expected to vote on the budget April 1.
