Vincent D. Notardonato, suddenly 81 years, of Franklin Park, Vet WWII U.S. Army; loving husband of Sylvia “Rusty”, nee Raymond; loving father of the late Linda (Roland Schleicher) Notardonato-Schleicher; devoted son of the late Rosaria and Joseph; fond son-in-law of the late Lillian Jadro; loving brother of Emma (the late Richard) Weltz and Rosalie (Robert) Filip; brother-in-law of the late Clarice (the late Arthur) Ramey, Helen (the late Peter) Uccardi and Virginia (the late Stanley) Halgas; fond uncle of Ronald (Doris) Uccardi, Joan Uccardi, Donald (Barbara) Folden, Vincent (Rosemary) Weltz, Stanley Halgas Jr., Bernadette (Paul) Hetman, Pauline Halgas, Mark (Beth) Filip, Julie (Craig) Jackson and the late Joseph (Dale) Weltz; great-uncle of many; loving papa of Kathryn “Katy” Tofilon; and dear friend of Trudy and Mike Tofilon. Vincent was born in Italy in 1920 and came to America in 1928. He excelled in school and mastered three languages. He attended St. Regis College in Denver and was in WWII serving bravely with General Patton’s Third Army Division. He had a 37 year career with Jewel Food Company where he was a manager for many years. He was a devoted and loving husband to Sylvia “Rusty” and they had nearly 54 years together. The pride and joy in their life was their daughter Linda who preceded her father in death in 1992. From the day she was born, she was the light of his life and became a friend as she grew into adulthood. Linda married Roland Schleicher in 1974. Together the couples enjoyed many good times. In his later years, he became papa to Kathryn “Katy” Tofilon who gave him countless hours of joy. He enjoyed family and friends and was a constant and loving companion to his best friend and wife “Rusty”. Resting at Cuneo-Columbian Funeral Home, 10300 Grand Ave., Franklin Park, Tuesday 3 to 9 p.m. Funeral Wednesday 9:30 a.m. to St. Gertrude Church. Interment St. Joseph. 847-455-1200
