Mike and Linda Newton of Naperville, formerly of Park Ridge, have announced the engagement of their daughter Kristen Louise to Christopher Brian Smith, son of Sanderson and Barbara Smith of Carpenteria, Calif.
The future bride received a bachelor’s degree in English and a master’s degree from Indiana University. She is a reference librarian at the Palatine Public Library.
The future groom received a bachelor’s degree in English from Wittenberg University in Springfield, Ohio, and his MLS from Indiana University. He is a reference librarian at Judson College in Elgin.
The couple has planned a June wedding at the Naper Settlement. They will reside in the Chicago area.
