A Carpentersville girl received 15 stitches in her chest Tuesday at St. Alexius Medical Center in Hoffman Estates after she was bitten by a dog owned by a family friend, police said. The girl, 2, was playing in the dog owner’s yard in the 100 block of Sioux Avenue when she was attacked, police said. The dog was quarantined at an animal hospital pending a rabies test. The pet’s owner was not charged, police said.
