Police have found a knotted piece of clothing that may have been used to bind Chandra Levy, adding a piece of forensic evidence to a case that detectives suspect is a homicide, police sources said.
The government intern’s stretch leggings, found in a park near her skeletal remains, were knotted in a way that suggests they may have been used to tie her up, the sources said Friday.
A Washington attorney for the Levy family said city police officials have not discussed with him evidence they have found. But he added, “If it is true, it goes a long way in proving Chandra did not die in Rock Creek Park by accident.”
Martin discounted the idea that Levy, 24, might have been jogging in the park and then was abducted and pulled into the thickly wooded area.
The woman vanished more than a year ago.
