A 16-year-old Aurora girl was being held Tuesday in the Kane County Juvenile Justice Center, three days after she allegedly tried to rob a cabdriver at knifepoint, police said. She was charged with attempted armed robbery and aggravated battery. The driver picked up the girl at Mercy Center on Saturday night and drove her to the 1300 block of Russell Avenue, where she allegedly put a knife to his throat and demanded money. The driver grabbed the knife and sped in reverse, causing the girl to fall out of an open door, police said. Hospital workers and North Aurora police helped Aurora police identify the girl, who was arrested at her home, police said.
