Mary Pokorny Knefel, departed this life on Sunday, Nov. 3, 2002 in the home of her daughter, Victoria Hofmann, of Chapel Hill, NC. Mamie was a 40 year member of Divine Savior Church, Norridge, IL. Her husband of 53 years, Laurence, preceded her in death in 1993. Mary is survived by her daughter, Victoria and husband, Dr. Lorenz M. Hofmann; her grandsons, Dr. Lorenz M. Hofmann II (Bethany) and Paul V. Hofmann; great-grandson, Jaxon; great-granddaughter, Madeline Ann; her sisters, Stella Lubawski and Irene (Chester) Gebis; and many loving nieces, nephews, cousins and friends.
