Spiegel and the late Harry Feldman, the last of the Banks family of Englewood on 63rd and Carpenter St., Chicago. Loving daughter of the late Abraham and Ruth Banks, nee Bonk; devoted sister of the late Faye Kirsch, David Banks, Dora Garden, Shirley Banks, Rose Banks and Reuben Banks; adored mother of Howard Alan (born Spiegel), her only child; cherished grandmother of Jessica, Ruthie and Alexander B. Alan; very special aunt to a host of nieces and nephews. Betty worked for the American Jewish Committee for 30 years, well into her 90’s because she loved to work, walk, look at the sky and take in the sun! She will be buried next to her parents at Waldheim Jewish Cemetery, Forest Park, IL. There will be a graveside gathering sometime in the spring to celebrate her long, loving and storied life. All who knew her loved her greatly. She will be missed! Her soul remains. Arrangements by: Chicago Jewish Funerals, Barry Silver Funeral Director, 847-229-8822 www.cjfinfo.com
