Helen Myers McLoraine died January 23, 2003, following a fall in Dallas, Texas. Helen and her late husband, Frank J. “Mac” McLoraine, were longtime Chicago area residents. Helen then moved to Denver, CO, in 1985. Services will be Friday, January 31, 2003, 11 a.m., at St. Andrew United Methodist Church, 6325 South University Blvd. in Centennial. Rev. James Barnes and Dr. Harvey Martz will officiate. A reception will follow in Fellowship Hall. Burial will be in the Ottawa Avenue Cemetery, Ottawa, IL. Helen is well known as a sponsor of many young figure skaters who have competed at the national and international level for over 30 years, including 1984 Olympic Champion Scott Hamilton. She has been an avid philanthropist, contributing to many charitable organizations with special emphasis in the fields of education, medical research and youth social welfare. She was a successful business woman in the oil and gas industry over a period of six decades. She was a member of St. Andrew United Methodist Church. She is survived by a first cousin, Tom Harper, of Sherman Oaks, CA, and numerous other cousins throughout seven states. Memorials may be made to: Urban Peak, 1630 S.
