Danny Manning, who hasn’t played since averaging 4 points for Dallas last year, signed with Detroit. “He’s the kind of player who can walk in and still contribute,” said coach Rick Carlisle. At 36, you can’t really expect him to run in.

Phil Mickelson says Tiger Woods’ equipment is subpar to his, but Tiger’s the one with 8 majors, while Mickelson is holding steady at zero. If you can’t beat the guy, beat up his sponsor?
