4. Questions surround handling of serial killer suspect, key clues

The capture of the man wanted in the serial killings of five women in Louisiana was met with relief Wednesday–as well as questions about whether investigators missed or discarded clues that could have saved some of the victims.

Ultimately, it was not the task force in charge of the 10-month investigation that zeroed in on Derrick Todd Lee as the suspect.

It was an investigator working on two seemingly unrelated slayings who obtained the DNA that implicated Lee.

5. OFFICIAL DIET SHIFT: New government dietary guidelines are in the works that may suggest people eat more fish and other foods with healthy fats but cut back on foods with harmful fats such as potato chips.

The White House Office of Management and Budget wrote the Agriculture and Health and Human Services Departments Wednesday urging them to revise current guidelines to distinguish between harmful trans fats that increase the risk of heart disease and beneficial fats such as omega-3 that can lower the risk.

6. LEVY BURIED: Chandra Levy, the former intern whose disappearance ended the congressional career of Gary Condit, was buried in Modesto, Calif., on Tuesday, more than a year after her remains were discovered in a Washington, D.C., park.
