A Zion man drowned Saturday in Lake Michigan after the dinghy in which he and a woman were rowing capsized in Monroe Harbor, officials said.
Around 8 a.m., police answered a call of an overturned boat, arriving to find a passerby pulling the 20-year-old woman from the water, officials said.
“Apparently their dinghy took on water and it capsized,” said Cmdr. Lorenzo Vazquez, a spokesman with the Chicago Fire Department.
Divers from the Fire Department and the Chicago Police Marine Unit found the body of the 25-year-old man after 20 minutes of searching, a Chicago police spokeswoman said.
Donald Pugh, 25, was pronounced dead Saturday at Northwestern Memorial Hospital.
