The Village Board on Tuesday will get its first official look at a proposed comprehensive plan.

The proposal is the result of two years of work by the 25-member Comprehensive Plan Committee, which included residents, and Plan Commission and village staff.

“It’s an important document that will guide us in the future,” said Village Manager Glenn Spachman.

The plan will be used by the village, developers and residents to guide development in the community and shows the type and location of residential and commercial development. It also outlines the types of community improvements desired, such as roads, parks, trails, open spaces, and community facilities.

Copies of the plan and the proposed land-use map are available at Homer Glen Village Hall, 14331 S. Golden Oak Drive, and at the Homer Township Public Library, 14320 W. 151st St.

The Village Board will review the plan at 7:30 p.m. on Tuesday in Village Hall.
