DuPage County sheriff’s police are searching for information about a fatal hit-and-run accident Tuesday night on St. Charles Road near Schmale Road in an unincorporated area near Carol Stream.
Police called to the scene found Jesus Fernandez, 36, of the 600 block of Willow Wood Drive, Carol Stream on the highway shortly before 10 p.m.
He was taken to Central DuPage Hospital in Winfield with numerous injuries and was pronounced dead a short time later.
Police said the victim left his home on foot about 9:15 p.m. They are asking anyone with information to call the sheriff’s office at 630-682-7256.
