The Dessin Fournir Companies’ Galerie opened in early January at the Tui Pranich showroom at The Merchandise Mart.

The Fournir companies specialize in custom high-end furniture, lighting and fabrics. The companies include Dessin Fournir, the namesake line of exclusive traditional furniture, Gerard, a collection of turn-of-the-century eclectic designs, ClassicCloth, an ultra-luxurious resource for textiles, Palmer Hargrave, an elegant lighting collection, and Kerry Joyce, a traditional furniture line with this designer’s own twist on elegant style.

The Tui Pranich showroom, in Suite 1804 at The Mart, Kinzie and Well streets, is open to the design trade.

Fenway Gallery, which specializes in Asian-inspired furnishings, is closing its Lincoln Park store and is having a sale.

The store, at 2570 N. Lincoln Ave., will close Feb. 25. Until then, however, everything in the store is 50 to 75 percent off.

Entertainment cabinets that were once $1,400 to $2,500 are now about $1,200; antique Chinese armoires, once $1,580, are $790; and a hand-painted Indian sideboard, once $1,485, is now $645.

Other Fenway Gallery stores are in Wicker Park, 1528 N. Milwaukee Ave., and in New Buffalo, Mich.

D. Edmunds Interiors, the design shop that features Baker, Henredon, Hekman and Maitland-Smith furniture, also will conduct a series of quarterly in-store workshops from 9 a.m. to 5 p.m. beginning Saturday.

The store, at 200 Burr Ridge Pkwy., Burr Ridge, is celebrating its 35th anniversary by giving away a $10,000 room makeover. Once a month there will be a drawing to qualify people for a grand-prize drawing in November.
