WHO: Evangel Kokkino

TITLE: President of Ghafari KSO, the new Chicago operating division of The Ghafari Cos., a Dearborn, Mich.-based architecture, engineering and technical staffing organization. The new division will focus on the aviation and logistics markets.

Banking

The Federal Reserve Bank of Chicago appointed Dennis J. Kuester to the Federal Advisory Council. Kuester is president and CEO of Milwaukee-based Marshall & Ilsley Corp.

Health care

Lake Forest-based TAP Pharmaceutical Products Inc., a joint venture of Abbott Laboratories and Osaka, Japan-based Takeda Chemical Industries Ltd., named Brian Luedtke vice president and general manager of Prevacid and gastrointestinal marketing.

Real estate

Mark N. Tennison joined Equity Residential as executive vice president, development.

Media

Network Chicago, the parent of WTTW11 and 98.7WFMT, promoted Jerry Hanna to senior vice president of engineering and Ron Yergovich to vice president, production operations, visual and engineering services. Network Chicago also elected John L. Brennan, Alan A. Brown and Robert W. Pike to its board of trustees. Brennan manages The Private Bank for Bank of America in Chicago and the Upper Midwest. Brown is chief marketing officer of Nuveen Investments, and Pike is executive vice president of Allstate Insurance Co.

Professional services

Huron Consulting Group, which provides valuation, corporate finance, restructuring and turnaround services, promoted Stephen Burns, Christopher Petrini-Poli, Ronald Provenzano and Daniel Wikel to managing directors.

Education

Kaplan Professional, a division of Kaplan Inc., appointed Andrea Mainelli senior vice president and chief operating officer. She is responsible for the information technology training businesses, which include Self Test Software, Transcender, and Perfect Access Speer.

Stephanie Griffin joined Columbia College Chicago as assistant vice president of human resources. She will also oversee the payroll department and the equity issues office of the college. Most recently, she was vice president/manager of human resources at ShoreBank.

Telecommunications

AT&T Wireless appointed Jeff Harkman regional vice president of sales for its Central Region. He was previously vice president and general manager of operations in Georgia and Florida for Charter Communications.

Legal

Michael J. Hayes Sr. and S. Patrick McKey joined Bell, Boyd & Lloyd’s public law and litigation groups as members, and Nicola Fiordalisi joined as a member concentrating in international corporate finance and cross border transactions. Hayes will head the firm’s public and regulatory law practice. All three were previously with Gardner Carton & Douglas.

CareerBuilder.com, an Internet job search site, appointed Rosemary Haefner vice president of human resources.

Tamara Franck joined Publicis Dialog Chicago as management supervisor of its Food and Consumer Group. Most recently she was a public relations manager with Campbell-Mithun, FoodWorks Division.
