Even though Barack Obama defines himself as “progressive,” his victory as the state’s Democratic candidate for U.S. Senate proved the term is too limiting for him. He casts a wide net that includes everybody but the Warren Buffetts (the last name as published has been corrected in this text) of the world. He is uniting communities, cultures and people with his vision for a future where the word “politician” means a person with the real majority’s interests in mind.

It may sound trite, but I think of Obama as the people’s politician. The majority of today’s politicians are considered upper class. How can they possibly understand the problems of America’s workers today? Now they are sweeping the middle class under the carpet and claiming allegiance to Wall Street. We need a candidate like Obama who will remember that the American people come first.
