A Gallup Tuesday Briefing poll asked Americans about their level of satisfaction with 21 different aspects of American life. Below are their responses to one: “Satisfaction with the position of women in the United States.”
Very satisfied: 17%
Somewhat satisfied: 51%
Somewhat dissatisfied: 21%
Very dissatisfied: 9%
Satisfaction with the position of women did not vary signficantly by gender. In the survey, 70 percent of men said they were “very satisfied” or “somewhat satisfied” with the position of women, while 67 percent of the women said the same.
Results are based on telephone interviews with 1,004 adults, 18 and older, conducted Jan. 12-15. For results based on the total sample of adults, one can say with 95 percent confidence that the margin of sampling error is plus or minus 3 percentage points. Numbers do not add up to 100 percent due to rounding.
