We all know that Star Jones Reynolds loves to gush about her husband, Al.
But is Star’s relationship with E! on the rocks? Insiders say the cable channel is unhappy with some of Star’s red carpet antics–such as babbling about her wedding and trying to get celebs to come on “The View,” the New York Daily News reports.
E!–which featured Star’s red-carpet coverage for the Golden Globes and Grammys and will use her again for Sunday’s Oscars–beats out other channels’ pre-awards coverage, but ratings for Star’s Grammy pre-show were 40 percent below Joan Rivers on E! last year, according to Nielsen figures.
Still, Star’s spokeswoman Jen Plante said “Star loves E! and E! loves Star,” and that any talk of a split is “ridiculous.”
E! chief of development Jeff Shore said, “We have her for 2005, and we have the option for 2006. We’re very happy with her, and she is kicking Joan’s ass. We’ll take a look at the option after the Oscars.”
