Bartlett’s Lindsay Schrader and New Trier’s Deirdre Naughton were chosen unanimously Monday to the Associated Press’ first team all-state for Class AA girls basketball.

Schrader, a 6-foot forward headed to Notre Dame, and Naughton, a 5-10 guard signed with Wake Forest, were named to the first team on all 11 ballots cast by a statewide panel of sports writers and broadcasters.

The remainder of the first team includes Young senior Danielle Campbell, Fenwick senior Brittanny Johnson and Peoria Richwoods sophomore Biannca Ward. All five first-teamers played for squads that were involved in supersectionals Monday night.

Schrader, the only repeat first-team selection, had scored 2,345 career points heading into Monday night’s supersectional against Rockton Hononegah. This season, she averaged 22.5 points and 10 rebounds for the 27-4 Hawks, who were ranked No. 7 in the final AP poll of the season. She also pulled in over 1,100 career rebounds and recently was the only Illinois girl selected as an All-American for both the Women’s Basketball Coaches Association and McDonald’s All-American games. She also is a Nike All-American who participated in the Junior Olympic Development Festival over the summer.

Naughton scored over 2,000 career points and is considered one of the top seniors in the country, along with Schrader.

Naughton averaged 24 points, three assists and four steals per game this season. She also attended the Nike All-American camp and was a McDonald’s All-American nominee.

Campbell, a 6-4 forward/center who is signed with Purdue, averaged 14 points, 12.5 rebounds, four blocks and three assists for Young’s Public League championship team. She was also a McDonald’s All-American nominee.

Johnson, who will play at Boston College, was the senior leader on a sophomore-dominated Fenwick team that has been ranked nationally by USA Today all season. She averaged 14.5 points, 6.5 rebounds, 3.2 assists and 2.7 steals for the Friars.

Ward led top-ranked Peoria Richwoods to an undefeated season heading into Monday night’s supersectionals. A 5-4 point guard, she averaged 15.8 points, 3.3 rebounds, three steals, and 4.4 assists per game as well as making 57 percent of her field goal attempts.

The all-senior second team includes Jenny Eckhart of Carmel, Katie Fournier of Moline, Kristi Cirone of Resurrection, Erin Cattell of Sandburg and LaToya Wright of Galesburg. Eckhart will play college basketball at Syracuse, Fournier at Wisconsin-Milwaukee, Cirone at Illinois State and Cattell at DePaul. Wright is still undecided.

The third team, also all seniors, is made up of Marshall’s Britney Jones (Alabama-Birmingham), Mahomet-Seymour’s Kendra Donley (undecided), Warren’s T.K. LaFleur (Nebraska), Glenbard West’s Kelly Krumweide (Bradley) and Zion-Benton’s Lacey Simpson (Illinois).
