This is in response to the letter suggesting that smoking deaths be labeled “suicides” (Voice of the people, Aug. 22), by Ron Hoffmann Sr. That isn’t such a bad idea, except that it removes the blame from tobacco products. Tobacco should be listed as the real cause of those deaths. Or it could be listed as “suicide by tobacco.”
