Lansing police were questioning a male suspect Monday in connection with the fatal shooting of a Glenwood man a day earlier, authorities said.

Nafis Muhammad, 24, was pronounced dead in a wooded area near 170th Street and Exchange Avenue after police received a call of shots fired about 10:15 a.m. Sunday, officials said. He suffered several gunshot wounds.

Muhammad’s death was ruled a homicide, a Cook County medical examiner’s office spokesman said.

The suspect was picked up later Sunday and charges are expected to be filed, said Lansing police Sgt. John Koch.
