The CTA closed a Blue Line station and stopped some “L” service for 30 minutes along the O’Hare branch on Tuesday afternoon after a report of an unattended package.
CTA spokeswoman Ibis Antongiorgi said a CTA customer assistant at the California station found the package at around 12:30 p.m. near the stairwell leading up to the platform. The CTA cleared out customers and closed the station while Chicago police investigated.
Antongiorgi said Blue Line “L” service between Damen and Logan Square was stopped as an added precaution, but the CTA provided shuttle bus service for affected riders.
Chicago police determined the package was not a threat, according to Antongiorgi, who said full service resumed, and the California station re-opened at about 1 p.m.
