A Round Lake man is being held in Lake County Jail in lieu of $75,000 bail, charged with sexually abusing a teenage boy he met over the Internet.
Joseph Caprigno, 40, of the 700 block of Sienna Drive is charged with two counts of aggravated criminal sexual abuse, authorities said Monday.
Caprigno allegedly met the boy in a chat room in May and arranged to meet him at a store. The two left the store and went to a park where the boy was touched inappropriately by Caprigno, the sheriff’s department said in a statement.
A search warrant was executed at Caprigno’s home on Saturday and a computer was seized, authorities said.
Caprigno’s next court date is Nov. 8.
