Caroline Schultze Teichler, of Sammamish, died Tuesday, October 18, 2005. She was 88 years of age. Mrs. Teichler was born on June 16, 1917 in Berwyn, IL, the daughter of Richard and Bertha Schultze, and the second eldest of seven children. She was raised in St. Charles, and graduated from Geneva High School. As a young woman she was employed as a secretary at the Chicago Surface Lines. She married Warren L. Teichler in 1948 in Elmhurst, and was happily married for 53 years. They spent nearly 50 years in South Holland, where they raised their two sons, Richard and Steven. Shortly after Warren’s death in 2001, she moved to Washington State to be nearer to her family and granddaughter. She was an active member in the Federated Church of Harvey and a long-standing volunteer and member of the Ingalls Memorial Hospital Auxiliary. Throughout her life, she enjoyed baking, needlepoint, collectibles, and staying in touch with friends and relatives. She was also an avid Chicago Cubs fan. Survivors include her sons Richard Teichler (Liz) of Lafayette, CO and Steven Teichler (Cindi) of Sammamish, WA; and granddaughter Liza Smith Teichler of Sammamish. A memorial service will be planned and held in South Holland, IL at a later date. The family suggests that remembrances be directed to the Parkinson’s Foundation. Friends are invited to share memories and sign the family’s online guestbook at www.flintofts.com. Arrangements are by Flintofts Issaquah Funeral Home.
