One of the “joys” of watching Howard Stern on E! Entertainment Television was the digital blurring of naked bodies and naughty goings-on of some of the guests who showed up in Stern’s studio.

It was like being teased, and it wasn’t so bad because reality paled in comparison to the vivid images your imagination would paint.

There’s no teasing on “Howard Stern On Demand,” In Demand Networks’ exclusive, unedited airing of Stern’s radio sideshow.

Available are uncensored episodes from Stern’s radio show and from the E! broadcasts, which leaves that network after a weeklong “best-of” festival starting at 10 p.m. Monday and ending in a six-episode viewer’s choice event starting at 10 p.m. New Year’s Eve.

Stern is to debut on the Sirius satellite radio network on Jan. 9. Those broadcasts will show up on pay-per-view in mid-March.

Nothing is left to the imagination on pay-per-view. For instance, there’s porn star Jenna Jameson stripping to her undies to give a scantily clad woman a sexy massage.

Seriously, blurring salacious images is more provocative.

You wonder if seeing what was only hinted at before is worth the $9.99 monthly introductory price and $13.99 a month when the satellite radio show is added.

“There are certain people who listen to Howard on the radio and appreciate . . . this notion of theater of the mind,” said Robert D. Jacobson, president and chief executive of In Demand Networks. “But at the same time, the audience that is the likely purchaser of `Howard Stern On Demand’ is thrilled that they’re getting the uncensored version.”

About 75 to 80 percent will be from the Sirius show, while Jacobson says around 20 percent of the 2,000 E! broadcasts “will be sprinkled in to give context and some depth.”
