Bail was set at $400,000 Sunday for a Chicago man charged with aggravated arson in connection with a March 14 house fire on the Far South Side that injured five people.

Alonzo Randolph, 23, was accused of starting the fire about 4:45 a.m. in the 11000 block of South Edbrooke Avenue.

A day before, he had told a resident of the house that he would be “dead by the end of the night,” Cook County Assistant State’s Atty. Mark Hitt told Criminal Court Judge Matthew Coghlan.

Cameras captured Randolph and others setting the fire, and Randolph also was identified in a photo lineup by at least one victim, prosecutors said.

Randolph, of the 500 block of West 123rd Street, was arrested Thursday in the 11000 block of South Indiana Avenue, about a block from the fire, when police recognized him.
