There was something offensive about the Blackhawks on Thursday night in Nashville (and we mean that in a good way). Eight goals. Two of them short-handed. An 8-6 victory. The Hawks didn’t light the lamp that many times in a game all of last season. Or the season before that. Go back to March 9, 2003. Sure, the wall sprung a leak. Nikolai Khabibulin allowed his first goal just 39 seconds into the season and six in the game. But Martin Havlat scored on the Hawks’ first shot on goal. And the Hawks capitalized on their first power-play too. And for those of you scoring at home, the gloves were dropped for the first time at 17:55 of the first period, with Lapointe and ex-Hawk Scott Nichol enjoying the honors.
