A weekly roundup of five activities spanning the leisure spectrum.

`MY MOTHER’S ITALIAN, MY FATHER’S JEWISH AND I’M IN THERAPY’

1. There are many stereotypes associated with Italian and Jewish families and actor Steve Solomon attempts to jab them all. While this isn’t the most politically correct one-man show, members of either ethnic group may identify with the characters he creates. Aside from writing and scoring this touring show, Solomon is also a comedy club regular who has toured the U.S. and abroad for more than 20 years.

Where: Paramount Theatre, 23 E. Galena Blvd., Aurora

Price: $20.50-$35.50; 630-896-6666 or www.paramountarts.com

LUNA NEGRA DANCE THEATER

2. After an appearance at Ravinia Festival, the Luna Negra Dance Theater heads to Harper College for its last suburban appearance this year. The troupe was founded in 1999 by Cuban dancer Eduardo Vilaro, known for bridging contemporary Latino and African-Caribbean styles. The upcoming performance includes an “Eternal Awakening” quartet segment symbolizing loss and hope, along with “The Lovers,” a duet dance about the complexity of relationships. The show also pays tribute to the late Venezuelan choreographer Vicente Nebrada with a Brazilian Carnival sequence.

TIM CONWAY AND HARVEY KORMAN FAREWELL TOUR

4. The legendary comedic duo of Tim Conway and Harvey Korman first worked together on “The Carol Burnett Show,” playing a slew of madcap characters from 1967-78. Though each actor has starred in several programs since, they’ve reflected their close bond with various “Together Again” tours based on their Burnett-era lunacy. The show consists of sketches and slapstick, with Conway often prodding Korman off track to burst out laughing during a routine. Also along for the “farewell” ride is Louise DuArt, an impressionist who’ll poke fun at Barbara Walters, Joan Rivers and Barbra Streisand.

When: 3 p.m. and 7 p.m. Thursday

KRISTY CATES CONCERT

5. It’s rare that Chicago’s “Wicked” cast has a night off. Still, singer/actress Kristy Cates (who plays Elphaba) is spending her down time with a one-night-only cabaret engagement in Arlington Heights. Expect standards, ballads, Broadway tunes and her personal favorites, along with a surprise special guest.
