Ethel A. Cohen, nee Kline,age 90, a lifelong area resident, passed away Oct. 14, 2006. She was preceded in death by her loving husband Seymour and her brother William “Bud” Kline. Ethel is survived by her loving daughter Carol and son Michael Cohen; four grandchildren, Kevin (Ann), Shawn, Abe and David (Daria); and three great-grandchildren, Max, Allison and Isaac; nieces Karen and Willa; and a loyal and loving friend, Dick Emperado. Ethel’s parents, the late Abraham and Ida Kline were the owners and founders of Kline’s Department Store. Ethel was a soloist in the choir at Temple Anshe Sholom, president of the National Counsel of Jewish Women, a member of Hadassah and ORT and was an artist and ceramicist. Ethel and Seymour spent their time in the Virgin Islands for many years. She was a loving and devoted wife, mother, grandmother, great-grandmother and friend. Friends are invited to meet the family at Temple Anshe Sholom, 20820 Western Ave., Olympia Fields, at 10 a.m. to leave in procession to Beverly Cemetery, 12000 S. Kedzie Ave., Blue Island, for an 11 a.m. graveside service. A shiva will be held following the service for two evenings at Ethel’s home at 230 Irving Blvd., Chicago Heights.
