Ex-Bull and current King/rap star wannabe Ron Artest says he wants to prove doubters wrong when it comes to his aspiring music career. “I’ve got music to be heard,” he said. Artest is striving to gain more respect in hip-hop and give many a better understanding of himself on his new album, “My World,” which will be released Oct. 31. He raps about his personal experiences, world issues and partying in clubs, while also expressing his thoughts about participating in one of the worst brawls in U.S. sports history. Some in the NBA may not be too pleased with what they hear. According to Sports Business Daily, Artest raps that he wants to teach NBA commissioner David Stern about “the ghetto,” and that NBC’s Matt Lauer, who “grilled him” after the brawl, looks “like a girl.”
