Richard T. Hardy Jr., 77, a retired community banker in Chicago’s Beverly neighborhood and Blue Island, died Jan. 17, 2007, in Florida following a stroke. Dick Hardy was raised in Oak Park, attended the University of Illinois at Urbana-Champaign and served in the U.S. Army in the Korean War. In retirement he lived in Mt. Dora, FL and Indian Head Park, IL. A skeet shooting enthusiast, he was a member of the Eustis Gun Club in Florida and the Downers Grove Sportsmen’s Club. Dick is survived by his wife of 55 years, Genevieve Woulfe Hardy, as well as five children: Thomas, Steven and Brian Hardy, Christine Hardy Cornillie and Cathlyn Kroml; nine grandchildren, Kevin, Brian, Patrick, Cooper, Lauren, Rachael and Shannon Hardy, Christopher and Henry Cornillie. A Mass will be held at 10:30 a.m. Saturday, Jan. 27, at Old St. Patrick’s Church, 700 W. Adams St., Chicago. Memorial donations can be made to PAWS Chicago (Pets Are Worth Saving).
