Two men were charged with residential burglary and criminal damage to property, accused of spending a weekend night in a home in the Hidden Valley subdivision and causing $10,000 in damage.
The men are accused of staying overnight Friday in a home in the 1300 block of Valley View while the owners were away.
The owners, who entered the home at about 10 a.m. Saturday, saw the damage and heard voices upstairs. They left the house and called 911. When police arrived, they found both men in the upstairs bathroom.
Carlos C. Medina, 18, of the 1100 block of North Sterling Avenue in Palatine and Stephen S. Casazza, 24, of the 4700 block of Arbor Avenue in Rolling Meadows were arrested by Will County sheriff’s police. They were taken to the Will County Adult Detention Facility where they posted bail.
The two allegedly destroyed a big-screen television and other items, police said. They may have had a party in the home as well, police said.
