Tyler Hudetz, Joliet Catholic
Rushed for 282 yards, four touchdowns and two two-point conversions in a 51-26 victory over Crete-Monee Friday night in the second round of the Class 6A playoffs.
Tom Lally, De La Salle
Completed 14 of 16 passes, including 8-for-8 with two touchdowns in the last five minutes to force overtime, in De La Salle’s 27-26 victory over Cary-Grove in the second-round of the 7A playoffs Saturday in Cary.
Patrick O’Brien, Belvidere
Rushed for 294 yards and six touchdowns, including the game-winner with 26 seconds remaining, in Belvidere’s 42-40 5A playoff victory over Robeson at Gately Stadium on Saturday.
Mike Piatkowski, Wheaton Warrenville South
Rallied the Tigers from a 22-7, third-quarter deficit by completing 23-of-29 passes for 306 yards and a touchdown and then scored the game-winning 2-yard touchdown with just over a minute to play in a 26-22 victory over St. Rita in the 7A playoffs Friday night.
Deion Robinson, Morgan Park
Returned an interception 27 yards for a touchdown with 45 seconds remaining to cap Morgan Park’s 34-27 comeback victory over Glenbard West Saturday in the 7A playoffs.
Adam Simpson, Lake Zurich
Filled in at running back for an injured teammate and rushed for 99 yards, including a 29-yard, fourth-quarter game-winning touchdown run. On defense he forced a fumble and averaged over 40 yards for seven punts in a 10-7 7A victory over Rolling Meadows on Saturday.
Tom Unak, Barrington
Stopped 12 shots, including a second-half penalty kick, in the Class AA state title soccer game to help Barrington to a 2-1 triple-overtime victory over Hinsdale Central on Saturday. In three state tournament games, Unak had 24 saves.
