SUBURBAN SHOWCASE: A day after upsetting No. 10 Trinity to reach the finals against No. 8 Loyola, Montini won its eighth straight, surprising the host Ramblers 46-43. Loyola (13-5), losing its first game this month, trailed 41-33 after three quarters and then missed seven of nine shots and committed four turnovers down the stretch. Montini (11-4) went without a basket in the final quarter. “Even though we weren’t scoring during the last quarter and a half, we still found a way to win,” G Alison Seberger (12 points) said. … Lake Zurich (13-4) toppled Trinity 45-42 in the third-place game behind Peggie Parhas’ 18 points, 10 in the fourth. Monica Albano led the slumping Blazers (14-4) with 20 points. … Samantha Arnold scored 20 to lead Lake Park past Barrington 47-42 in the consolation final.

WHEATON NORTH: No. 13 Hinsdale Central hit 12 of 13 free throws down the stretch to hand No. 14 Waubonsie Valley a 58-51 loss, its first of the season. G Toni Kokenis led Central (15-1) in the semifinal with 14 points, and F Katie Delaney had 10 points and 16 rebounds. … No. 9 Schaumburg set a school record for points in a game with its 82-40 semifinal romp over Glenbard South (11-5). Kylie Castans scored 24 and Drewann Pancratz had 22 points for the 16-0 Saxons.

GARY: Terranika Reynolds totaled 14 points and nine assists to lead Marshall (11-5) to the tournament title 50-41 over Gary West Side. Sarah Rogers added 11 points, eight rebounds and five steals.

ARCHBISHOP MITTY: No. 1 Young (14-0) pulled away in its semifinal against Santa Cruz Soquel in San Jose for a 55-44 victory behind the play of G D’Frantz Smart (15 points).

JUNIOR ORANGE BOWL: No. 12 Bolingbrook (10-3) advanced to the title game in Miami with a 42-31 win over Davie (Fla.) Nova. Ariele Massengale scored 18.

BLOOMINGTON/NORMAL: Zhaque Gray scored 25 points in Hope’s 74-43 semifinal rout of Springfield Sacred Heart-Griffin. The No. 3 Eagles (13-1) play for the tournament title against Peoria Richwoods at 7 p.m. … Neuqua Valley took the consolation title with a 40-32 victory over Joliet.

LINCOLN-WAY EAST: Lincoln-Way Central went on a 16-1 run to pull away to a 59-43 semifinal win over Crete-Monee. Cass Gunderson had 13 points, 10 rebounds and seven assists for the Knights (9-4). … T.F. North advanced to the finals by downing Plainfield South 68-42. Karisma Chapman scored 17 points for the winners.
