Zakes, nee Gerej, age 88, Monday, Jan. 12, 2009, late of Romeoville, formerly of Cicero, loving mother of Patricia McDonald and Charles (Linda) Zakes; cherished grandmother of David (Mandy), Matthew (Tammy) McDonald, Martin, Steven, Joseph and Robert Zakes; great-grandmother of Katherine, Mary, Sean, Bryson and Greyson McDonald.
Preceded in death by her husband, Charles Zakes; parents, Gregory and Mary Gerej; a son, Phillip Zakes; a brother, Edward Gerej; and a grandson, Andrew McDonald.
Visitation Friday 2 to 9 p.m. at the Anderson Memorial Chapel, 606 Townhall Dr. in Romeoville.
Funeral Saturday, Jan. 17, 2009, 10:45 a.m. from the funeral home chapel to St. Andrew Catholic Church for an 11:15 a.m. Mass.
Interment Resurrection Cemetery in Justice.
