Roy A. Latimer, a resident of the La Grange Highlands, IL since 1956, died at Hinsdale Hospital on April 22, 2009.
He was born January 3, 1917, at Longwood, MO. He attended Central Missouri State University, where he received BA and BS degrees in Education.
In 1956 he received a MA degree in Business Education from the University, Iowa City, Iowa.
Roy was a business Education Teacher for 38 years, the last 26 years at Lyons Township High School, La Grange, IL. He was active in Local, State and National Business Education Organizations.
He was a Member of the La Grange Highlands Civic Association Board, 20 years and served as Secretary of the Board for six years.
He was a volunteer at Hinsale Hospital for 15 years.
He served terms as Secretary, Treasurer and President of the Volunteer Board.
Roy volunteered at the Community Nurse Health Association Shop in La Grange.
He is survived by cousins Charley, Kay and RobertLatimer, Suzanne Latimer Kenny and Georgia Latimer Klos of Overland Park, Kansas.
Private interment will be in Longwood, Missouri.Hallowell & JamesFuneral Home, in Countryside is assisting the family.
