Gertrude M. Steel,nee LaBotz, went to be with the Lord on Aug. 6, 2009, preceded in death by husband, Elmer; father, John; mother, Henrietta; brothers Henry, Bert, Herbert and John; sister, Laverne Paoli; survived by sons John and Frank (Cynthia); grandchildren Theodore “Ted”, Troy (Deb) and Todd; seven great-grandchildren and sister, Harriet.
Memorial service Saturday, Aug. 29, 2009 at 4:30 p.m. with visitation starting at 2:30 p.m. at Moraine Valley Community Church, 8601 W. 107th St., Palos Hills, IL 60465 (morainechurch.org).
