There are certain things I’ve come to expect during this Bears season. Sunday’s game did not stray from the course.

– Jay Cutler throws off target. Check.

– The running game turns my stomach. Check.

– Questionable play-calling. Check.

– Still no No. 1 receiver. Check.

– The offensive line crumbles. Check.

– Lovie looks lost. Check.

– TV broadcasters struggle to find good things to say about the Bears. Check.

– The defense is completely man-handled. Check.

The defense, though, really set a new high — or is it low — for ineptitude Sunday.

Brett Favre almost threw for a career high with 392 yards. How did that happen? He’s been playing for, what, 35 years and hasn’t seen a defense as horrid as this one? Almost, it seems.

Here’s Favre’s line: 32-of-48 for 392 yards and three touchdowns.

The Bears are lucky in one sense, though.

The defensive collapse stood out to me more than the impotent offense. And that’s saying something considering the Bears managed just 169 total yards.

Heck, I walked that much back and forth between the dinner table and the kitchen on Thanksgiving.
