A Joliet man last week was charged with drug possession and aggravated unlawful use of a weapon after Joliet police said they found him asleep in a car on the city’s east side.

Carlos E. Robles, 18, of the 300 block of East Jackson Street had a small amount of cannabis and a loaded .40-caliber handgun in the vehicle, police said. A Joliet officer reportedly approached the parked vehicle about 2:40 a.m. and found Robles and a woman asleep inside. The woman was released without being charged.
