M/I Homes is celebrating spring with a model home tour at three of its town house developments this weekend and next.

Six decorated models can be toured at Shelburne Crossing in Winfield, Plaza on New York in Aurora and Church Street Station in Hanover Park. Attendees will receive a free gift and can register to win a grand prize. Those who purchase a town house by the end of April will receive bonus savings.

To participate, visitors can download an entry from MIHomes.com or pick up a card at the first sales office they visit and have it stamped at each sales office on their tours.

“We have 33 town homes that can be ready to move into before the end of June” in time to receive the federal government’s $8,000 and $6,500 tax credits, said Ron Martin, area president, Chicago Division for Ohio-based M/I Homes. See federalhousingtaxcredit.com for details.

Nestled in a rural setting with wooded views and a pond, Shelburne Crossing is within walking distance of the Metra train station and downtown Winfield. The new Uptown Series includes four two-story designs with 1,579 to 1,858 square feet, priced from $191,990 to $222,990. A trio of rowhouse-style residences range from 2,013 to 2,132 square feet and are priced from $239,990 to $264,990.

Plaza on New York is within walking distance of the Metra station and the Fox Valley shopping mall. Four designs range from 1,730 to 1,965 square feet with two or three bedrooms and 2 1/2 baths in two-story plans with lower levels with unfinished storage space and two-car garages. Base prices range from $199,990 to $239,990.

Mill Creek in Geneva

Through April 30, buyers can receive up to $30,000 in upgrades and incentives on a new residence at Mill Creek in Geneva, being developed by Shodeen Residential.

The upgrades include a black aluminum fence, a 20-by-20-foot patio, blinds throughout the home, granite countertops, stainless steel appliances, garage door openers, and a 50-inch HDTV with surround sound.

Buyers can also receive $3,000 to be applied toward closing costs.

In Mill Creek’s Tanna neighborhood, buyers can pick from several inventory homes available for immediate move-in, including two Prairie Ranch IV designs with three bedrooms, two baths, three-car garage, golf course lot, front porch and a full basement. One of the residences is 2,027 square feet, priced at $406,418, and the other is 2,033 square feet, priced at $408,171.

Mill Creek’s Oakmont neighborhood also has several residences available for immediate delivery, including a two-story Stewart II with four bedrooms, 2 1/2 baths, a den, wraparound porch and three-car garage. The 2,811-square-foot plan is priced at $471,643.
