Information for this report was obtained from NFL scouts.
Antrel Rolle was the eighth pick of the 2005 draft and played cornerback his first three years in the league. He made it to his first Pro Bowl as a free safety last season, and many scouts believe he is better suited for the safety position.
Though Rolle doesn’t have cornerback quickness, he does have cornerback speed, range and athleticism at the safety position. He has the ability to cover running backs and tight ends man to man, and he has good ball skills.
Rolle has become a more physical player in the box, and he can be an explosive tackler. Sometimes he will go for the big hit and miss the tackle.
The best way to attack Rolle is to try to take advantage of his aggressiveness. He trusts his eyes, so the quarterback should try to look him off and pump fake him. He also could be susceptible to play fakes and double moves.
