A 31-year-old Arlington Heights man who was struck by a train in the village’s downtown this morning is in serious condition, police said.
The pedestrian went around crossing gates near the train depot where a Metra train was stopped about 10:47 a.m., according to Cmdr. Michael Miljan. The man was unaware that another locomotive-only train also was heading down the tracks and he was hit.
