David Haugh’s story about Ozzie’s alleged “greed” (“Guillen jumps ship on White Sox,” Page 1, Sept. 27) was a horrible way for a White Sox fan to find out about Ozzie leaving the Sox. Ozzie’s character was assassinated right there on page 1.

I believe a man’s character shows in the sum of all his actions, and I refuse to believe the slanted story. As the story unfolded during the morning, Ozzie never blamed anyone. There was no trash talk. He is leaving Chicago loved by many fans and players and with many good memories.

Thank you Ozzie! Good luck!
